Tucked among the ancient ruins of Kos Old Town, the Church of St John the Baptist stands quietly resilient. It's a relatively modern addition compared to the surrounding relics, but it feels completely at home among toppled columns and crumbling stone. St John, the wild man of the New Testament, was never one for grandeur, so it's fitting that this church feels modest, peaceful, and slightly hidden. Kos has layered histories - Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman - and this little church feels like a nod to all of them, quietly bridging the past and present. Blink and you might miss it, but stop for a moment, and it rewards you with stillness and light.
I caught this image as the sunlight broke through the trees, landing gently on the church's pale stone while the rest of the site lingered in shadow. It felt like a moment meant to be noticed - a small, beautiful pause in the middle of ancient grandeur. Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
