Adapted for life in water, it has dense, insulating fur, powerful swimming ability, and feeds mainly on fish, amphibians, and other aquatic prey.
Standing in shallow water among smooth pebbles, the otter holds its catch firmly in its mouth. Its body is slightly hunched as it steadies itself on the uneven riverbed, while the surrounding stones and larger rocks frame the scene.
