Otters are well adapted to life in water, with dense insulating fur, strong swimming ability, and a diet mainly consisting of fish and other aquatic prey.
Leaning forward at the water’s edge, the otter lowers its head to drink, its body angled down across a bed of pale stones. The still surface reflects its face and upper body, creating a soft mirror image beneath.
