The Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) is a semi-aquatic mammal found across rivers, lakes, and coastal areas throughout the UK and much of Europe. Once in decline due to pollution and habitat loss, it has made a steady recovery in recent decades. Adapted for life in and around water, it has dense insulating fur, strong swimming ability, and feeds mainly on fish and other aquatic prey.
Holding food between its front paws, the otter focuses intently as it eats, its head lowered and whiskers clearly defined. A discarded shell sits nearby, hinting at its recent catch, while the flat surface beneath provides a simple, uncluttered setting. I'm absolutely made up with the print I received from Real World Art. I went for the Koi Carp image - It's very evocative and they've totally captured the serenity you feel watching Koi.
