The moon jellyfish (Aurelia aurita) is one of the most common jellyfish species, found throughout the world’s oceans and regularly present in UK waters. Its translucent, rounded bell and gentle pulsing movement make it instantly recognisable. Typically reaching the size of a dinner plate, it is composed of around 95% water and, like all jellyfish, has no brain, blood, or heart, drifting with currents as it feeds on plankton.
Two jellyfish overlap within the frame, their semi-transparent forms glowing in cool violet-blue tones against a deep black background. The nearer jellyfish reveals intricate internal structures, including the distinctive circular organs, while the second form sits partially behind, adding depth. Their curved bells and trailing forms create a layered, flowing composition with a strong sense of movement.

Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
