The grey squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis) is a familiar sight across the United Kingdom, having been introduced from North America in the late 19th century. It has since become widespread in woodlands, parks, and urban green spaces, where it is easily recognised by its bushy tail and agile movements. Grey squirrels are opportunistic feeders, consuming nuts, seeds, fruits, and occasionally bird eggs, and are well adapted to life alongside human activity.
A single squirrel sits upright on short grass, holding food delicately between its front paws. Its soft grey fur blends with the muted greens of the lawn, while the large, bushy tail stretches out behind, adding balance to the composition. Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
