Strumble Head Lighthouse stands on Ynysmeicl, a small islet off the Pembrokeshire coast, built to guide vessels navigating the hazardous waters between Ireland and Fishguard Harbour. This stretch of coastline has long been known for its dangers, with numerous shipwrecks recorded in the 19th century alone. Established as a vital navigational aid, the lighthouse was automated in 1980, continuing its role in safeguarding maritime routes.
