Strumble Head Lighthouse stands on Ynysmeicl, a small offshore island along the Pembrokeshire coast, built to guide ships safely through a stretch of sea long known for its hazards. During the 19th century, many vessels were lost along this coastline, making the lighthouse an essential navigational aid. Now automated, it continues to mark this exposed route between Ireland and Fishguard Harbour.
