Excellent print quality, quick arrival. - Colin G, Worksop
Greek Fortifications art prints - professionally printed and available up to 30in x 20in.
As Mediterranean wall art, it offers clean lines and warm stone tones that work particularly well in bright, contemporary rooms.
The Saint Nicholas Fortress stands at the northern tip of Mandraki Harbour's pier in Rhodes. Built between 1464 and 1467 by Grand Master Piero Raimondo Zacosta on the site of an earlier Byzantine church dedicated to Saint Nicholas, it guarded the military port and symbolised the island's coastal defence. After the 1480 Ottoman siege and a damaging earthquake in 1481, Grand Master Pierre d'Aubusson added a bastion to strengthen the structure. A lighthouse was installed on the tower in the 17th century; the current version was built by the French Ottoman Lighthouse Society in 1863 and is still in operation. Although visitors can't enter the interior, they can enjoy views from the viewing deck and walk the former moat trail framed by the windmills and the harbour's ships.
My photograph shows the fortress reaching out into the water, with the sea on one side and a bold blue sky above. The wide angle lets you see the structure in context - stone against sea, with the lighthouse sitting calmly on top. It's a peaceful but powerful scene, ideal if you're drawn to coastal prints with a bit of historical weight.
Bring stunning photography into your space with this high-quality art print, designed for exceptional detail and longevity. Printed on Premium Lustre Photographic - a semi-matt finish with a subtle, speckled sheen that minimizes glare, making it ideal for bright rooms or spaces with direct lighting. Its subtle texture adds depth, while supporting deeper colour saturation than standard matte photo prints.
Each rhodes sea fortress art print includes a 1/4-inch white border by default, providing a refined, ready-to-frame presentation. Need a custom border size or colour? I offer tailored options upon request to match your specific framing or display preferences.
