Wheal Unity Wood Tin Mine near St Day in Cornwall forms part of the region’s long-established mining landscape, where tin extraction shaped both the economy and the environment for centuries. Engine houses and their accompanying chimneys were central to operations, housing the machinery used to pump water and haul materials from underground. Following the decline of the industry, these structures were left behind, becoming enduring features of the Cornish countryside and reminders of its industrial heritage.
