Ellerkin Scar rises above Askrigg in the Yorkshire Dales, forming one of the most prominent limestone scars overlooking Wensleydale from the north. These scars are shaped by centuries of erosion, where softer rock has worn away to leave exposed bands of pale limestone cutting across the hillside. The area is steeped in walking routes and local history, with paths that have long been used by farmers and travellers moving through the dale.
Light moves across the slope, picking out the textures of grass and exposed rock while darker cloud gathers overhead. The winding path leads the eye upward toward the scar, creating a natural sense of direction and scale. The contrast between sunlit hillside and shadowed sky gives the scene depth and atmosphere, capturing the changing conditions typical of the Dales.

Each print is mounted onto black, 3mm Foamex - an ultra-durable, moisture-resistant PVC substrate that remains lightweight yet rigid. Perfect for displaying on an easel or mounting with the included Velcro strips, without the need for framing.
Supplied without a border unless otherwise specified.
Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
