The Humboldt penguin (Spheniscus humboldti) is a medium-sized penguin species native to the coasts of Peru and Chile, where it inhabits rocky shores and islands influenced by the cold Humboldt Current. Adapted to a warmer climate than many other penguin species, it feeds primarily on small fish such as anchovies and sardines. Recognised by its distinctive black-and-white markings and narrow chest band, it is well suited to life both in the water and on land.
Swimming just below the surface, the penguin is captured mid-glide with its flippers extended like wings. The clear turquoise water surrounds the bird, while the rippled surface above adds texture and depth. Its streamlined body and forward motion create a sense of movement, with the clean composition emphasising the simplicity and efficiency of its form.

Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
