Warkworth Castle, located in Northumberland, is a medieval fortress with origins dating back to the 12th century. Once a stronghold of the Percy family, it played a significant role in the defence of northern England and reflects the scale and design of fortified structures from the period. Its thick stone walls and gatehouse remain key features of the site today.
The gatehouse stands prominently in warm evening light, its stonework catching the low sun and revealing texture and detail.
