Castle Point Lime Kilns on Lindisfarne are part of the island’s industrial past, where limestone was once burned to produce lime for agriculture and construction. Positioned close to the shoreline, these stone structures reflect a period when coastal access was essential for transporting materials. Today, the remains sit quietly within the landscape, shaped by exposure to the elements and gradual natural change.
The kiln building stretches across the foreground, its arched openings and rough stonework clearly visible. Grass and pebbled ground surround the structure, while Lindisfarne Castle appears in the distance on the headland.
