Longstone Lighthouse stands on one of the Farne Islands off the Northumberland coast, built in the early 19th century to guide ships through the often hazardous waters of the North Sea. It is closely associated with Grace Darling, whose rescue in 1838 brought national attention to the lighthouse and its keepers. The structure remains an enduring part of the region’s maritime history.
The red and white tower rises above the low island, with adjoining buildings forming a compact cluster along the shoreline. Soft light breaks through the clouds, picking out colour and detail in the lighthouse while the sea in the foreground remains darker and textured. The composition balances the strong horizontal line of the water with the vertical form of the tower.

Each print is mounted onto black, 3mm Foamex - an ultra-durable, moisture-resistant PVC substrate that remains lightweight yet rigid. Perfect for displaying on an easel or mounting with the included Velcro strips, without the need for framing.

Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
