Five days after the full Moon, the lunar surface enters the waning gibbous phase, with around 83% illumination. During this stage, shadows begin to return along the terminator line, enhancing the visibility of craters, ridges, and surface texture. This shifting light reveals detail that is less pronounced at full illumination, making it a particularly interesting phase for observation. Captured through a 130mm f/900 Newtonian telescope, this view highlights the Moon’s changing appearance as it moves through its cycle.

Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
Waning Gibbous Moon moon foam backed prints are printed to order and usually shipped within 3-4 business days. Please allow a further 2-3 days from the despatch date to receive your item (not including weekends or bank holidays).
