The tiny white chapel of Saint Emilianos stands on a small islet beside Symi, linked by a narrow land bridge.
According to tradition, it was built by sponge-divers who funded its construction after the saint appeared in a vision to a ship-owner [Amazing Greece]. The site includes the chapel, a courtyard with trees, and simple cells - once owned by captain Nikitas Giannaras for his six children [AllOverGreece]. The chapel holds its feast day on 18 July, drawing local veneration and boat-based visitors who pause for reflection amid clear, turquoise waters [Hellenic Travel Group].
