The moon jellyfish (Aurelia aurita) is one of the most widespread jellyfish species, found throughout the world’s oceans and commonly seen in UK coastal waters. Recognised by its translucent bell and soft, drifting movement, it typically grows to around the size of a dinner plate. Like all jellyfish, it is composed of around 95% water and has no brain, blood, or heart, relying on ocean currents to move and feed on plankton and small marine life.
Two jellyfish are captured mid-water, their semi-transparent forms glowing in cool blue tones against a dark background. The larger jellyfish dominates the frame with its curved bell and trailing oral arms, while a smaller one drifts below, adding depth and scale. I'm absolutely made up with the print I received from Real World Art. I went for the Koi Carp image - It's very evocative and they've totally captured the serenity you feel watching Koi.
