The cloisters of Durham Cathedral in County Durham form part of one of the most significant Norman ecclesiastical buildings in England, founded in 1093. Surrounding a central garth, these covered walkways were traditionally used by monks for study, meditation, and daily movement between different parts of the cathedral complex.
