The Concord River flows through The North Bridge National Park in Massachusetts, an area closely linked to early American history and the opening events of the American Revolutionary War. Today, the river and its surroundings are preserved as a quiet landscape of woodland and water, where historic features sit within a natural setting shaped by seasonal change. The original bridge (there is now a replica) is often referred to as the location of the 'shot heard round the world,' and the beginning of the American War for Independence.
