Built in the 16th century during the reign of Henry VIII, it worked alongside nearby fortifications to guard against naval attack, reflecting the strategic importance of Falmouth as a deep-water port. Today, the surviving structure stands as a reminder of England’s maritime past, set against a coastline shaped by both defence and trade.
