Positioned to guard the entrance to one of Britain’s most important natural harbours, it worked alongside nearby fortifications to protect against naval threats. Today, the remains sit quietly above the shoreline, reflecting both the strategic importance of Falmouth and the long maritime history of this stretch of coast.
