Peacocks aren’t what most people expect to find in the woods of Rhodes, but Seven Springs is full of surprises. Tucked into a shady valley inland from Kolymbia, the area is a mix of forest trails, freshwater springs, and – yes – peacocks. These birds roam freely here, adding a flash of blue and green to the otherwise earthy tones. The males, in particular, are unmistakable with their iridescent feathers and showy tails, even when they’re not displaying. They’re a little bit wild and a little bit ornamental, and they’ve become part of the charm of this peaceful spot.
This image shows a wild peacock resting in the roots of an old tree, half in shadow, half glowing with colour. The blues and greens of the feathers are vivid without feeling overdone, and the natural surroundings bring out the contrast beautifully. It’s a small window into a quiet corner of the island, and a great card for anyone who loves birds or unexpected beauty.
