Due to habitat loss, the species is considered endangered, making it an important focus for conservation efforts.
Perched along a slender branch, the tamarin crouches low with its body compact and tail hanging vertically beneath. Its pale fur contrasts sharply with its dark face and limbs, while the long tail adds a strong visual line through the composition.
