The Isle Head Lighthouse, known locally as “The Cairn”, is a historic white, square tower standing at the tip of the Isle of Whithorn in Scotland. It has long served as an important navigational marker, with origins that may reach back to medieval times. The lighthouse looks out across the Solway Firth and is a favourite stopping point on coastal walks, close to the ruins of St. Ninian’s Chapel. It’s easily reached from the free car park in the village, making it a popular spot for visitors exploring this picturesque fishing community.
