Built in the fifteenth century by the Macdonalds of Lochalsh, the castle later passed to the Mackenzies before being partially destroyed in clan conflict. Today, its ruined walls remain as a quiet reminder of the region’s turbulent past, set against a landscape of water, steep hills and shifting Highland weather.
