Conisbrough Castle, near Doncaster in South Yorkshire, dates from the late 11th century and is one of the most distinctive Norman castles in England. Built by the de Warenne family, the castle later became part of England’s medieval power structure and has remained a prominent landmark within the landscape ever since.
