Scottish Shipwrecks framed wall art - professionally finished and available up to 24" x 16".
The soft reflections and subdued light introduce depth and atmosphere, ideal for spaces that favour understated coastal themes.
Just outside Salen on the Isle of Mull, two derelict fishing boats - Pavonia (built in Banff, 1955) and Elsie May (a prawn boat from Oban, late 1960s) - linger on the shoreline, abandoned when restoration plans fell through in the 1970s. A local reportedly acquired them for salvage but later abandoned the idea. These haunting relics have weathered into silent, photogenic sculptures against the backdrop of the Sound of Mull, just a short drive from Craignure en route to Tobermory. Locals call it a photographer's right-of-way - magical in the right light, but fading forever under the elements.
In my photograph the boats appear almost fused with the land, their shapes half-swallowed by time. The deep, moody colour palette emphasises that slow collapse - a sense that the tide has moved on but they've stayed behind. A striking piece if you're into storytelling through scenery.
