The deer statues at Mandraki Harbour are among the best-known symbols of Rhodes. Standing on tall stone columns, the stag and doe (known locally as Elafos and Elafina) are said to mark the spot where the legendary Colossus of Rhodes once stood - one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
