A plasma ball contains a mix of noble gases sealed inside a glass sphere, with a high-voltage electrode at its centre. When electricity is applied, the gases ionise and form glowing plasma filaments that extend outward in constantly shifting patterns. These branching strands respond to electrical changes, creating a dynamic and fluid display. The concept behind the plasma lamp was originally developed by Nikola Tesla during his experiments with high-voltage energy.
In this image, bright filaments radiate from the central electrode in vivid blues and purples, branching outward in a complex network of light. The circular boundary of the sphere contains the motion, while the deep black background enhances contrast and clarity. The composition highlights both the structure and movement within the plasma.

Each print is mounted onto black, 3mm Foamex - an ultra-durable, moisture-resistant PVC substrate that remains lightweight yet rigid. Perfect for displaying on an easel or mounting with the included Velcro strips, without the need for framing.

Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
Plasma Ball plasma globe foam backed prints are printed to order and usually shipped within 3-4 business days. Please allow a further 2-3 days from the despatch date to receive your item (not including weekends or bank holidays).
