A plasma ball contains a mixture of noble gases sealed within a glass sphere, with a high-voltage electrode at its centre. When an electrical current is applied, the gases ionise, producing glowing plasma that extends outward in branching filaments. These shifting strands respond to electrical fields and movement, creating a dynamic and constantly changing display. The original concept of the plasma lamp was developed by Nikola Tesla during his experiments with high-voltage electricity.
In this image, the plasma filaments radiate from the central electrode in vivid shades of purple and blue, forming an intricate, web-like pattern. Set against a dark background, the glowing lines stand out sharply, while the circular shape of the sphere keeps the composition clean and contained. Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
