The L2 channel marker in the Sound of Harris, Outer Hebrides, is part of a network of navigational aids guiding vessels through one of Scotland’s more complex coastal waterways. The Sound, lying between Harris and North Uist, is characterised by shallow waters, sandbanks, and shifting tidal channels, making clear markers essential for safe passage. These simple but vital structures help define routes through an otherwise difficult-to-read seascape shaped by constant movement beneath the surface.
A slender channel marker rises from still water, its reflection stretching below. Beyond it, low-lying islands and a distant hill form a soft horizon under a lightly clouded sky, while the calm surface creates a quiet, open sense of space.

Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
