Kastri Island is one of those little places that makes a big impression. Floating just off the coast of Kos, near Agios Stefanos Beach, it's home to the tiny chapel of Aghios Nikolaos and not much else - unless you count the wild thyme and a few goats. Locals say the island was formed from a volcanic eruption long ago, and its rocky silhouette with that dramatic central outcrop makes it one of the most photographed spots on the island.
