The cornflower, or Centaurea cyanus, has long been associated with traditional European farmland, where it once grew abundantly among cereal crops. Known for its distinctive frilled petals and vivid blue to violet tones, it has featured in folklore, symbolism, and garden planting for centuries. Although less common in modern agriculture due to changes in farming practices, it remains a popular wildflower in managed meadows and cottage-style gardens.
