The Fairy Glen lies just inland from Uig on the Isle of Skye, formed from a landscape of small, rounded grassy hills created by ancient landslips on the Trotternish Peninsula. Among these formations stands a distinctive basalt-topped mound, an uncollapsed remnant of the plateau known as Castle Ewen. From a distance, its shape resembles a ruined tower, adding to the area’s sense of folklore and character.
The view looks into the glen between two rising slopes, drawing the eye toward Castle Ewen on the right. Bright green grass covers the undulating terrain, while scattered rocks add texture across the foreground. The open sky and soft cloud provide contrast, balancing the enclosed feel of the valley with a sense of space.
