Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm lies off the coast of East Yorkshire in the North Sea, south of Bridlington and north of Hornsea. Completed in 2015, the site was one of the first large offshore wind farms to use next-generation turbines designed for greater energy output in the challenging conditions of the North Sea. Developments such as this form an important part of the United Kingdom’s transition toward renewable energy, with the Yorkshire coast now home to several major offshore wind projects.
