Brilliant customer service from the start with an easy website to navigate. Unfortunately when my order arrived the print was damaged, contacted Carol who sent another out for me straight away and kept me updated along the way. Absolutely fantastic service. Thank you. - Kim S, Pontefract
English Abbeys panoramic foamex print - lightweight and modern wall art available up to 48in x 16in.
Whitby Abbey stands high on the cliffs above the North Yorkshire coast, its dramatic Gothic ruins long associated with the town’s maritime history and folklore. This striking historic landmark works beautifully as wall art in living rooms, studies or hallways, particularly in interiors that favour heritage themes or historic architecture. A distinctive piece for those drawn to Yorkshire landmarks and Britain’s atmospheric coastal ruins.
Whitby Abbey, perched dramatically on the windswept cliffs above the North Sea, is one of England's most atmospheric and historically significant monastic ruins.
Founded in 657 by the Anglo-Saxon princess St Hild as a double monastery for monks and nuns, it became a centre of early Christian learning and hosted the famous Synod of Whitby in 664, which decided the date of Easter for the English Church.
Destroyed by Viking raids, rebuilt in the Norman period, and finally dissolved in 1539 under Henry VIII, its striking Gothic remains inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula, with Count Dracula arriving in England as a black dog leaping from a shipwrecked vessel below these very cliffs.
Today, the skeletal silhouette of the great east window stands as an enduring symbol of faith, power, and Gothic romance against the wild Yorkshire coast.
This majestic scene captures the weathered ruins of a Gothic abbey rising from a field of golden grass beneath a clear blue sky.
The pointed arches, tall windows, and intricate stonework speak to centuries of craftsmanship and devotion, while the open landscape and soft light evoke a sense of quiet reverence.
Though partially collapsed, the structure retains its grandeur, standing as a solemn monument to Britain''s medieval heritage.
The contrast between ancient stone and vibrant nature creates a timeless composition steeped in history and atmosphere.

I'm absolutely made up with the print I received from Real World Art. I went for the Koi Carp image - It's very evocative and they've totally captured the serenity you feel watching Koi. You can almost hear the babbling water! What's more, it's a top quality print, pin-sharp and looks great framed up. Couldn't recommend them any higher.. lovely to deal with.. thank you.
