ABOUT THE IMAGE

Situated on the West Coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides above Loch Roag. Known in Gaelic as the Calanais Standing Stones, the Calanais Standing Stones were erected in a cruciform pattern with a central stone circle in the late Neolithic era. There are many other monuments and stone circles in the area implying that Callanish was an active focus for prehistoric religious activity for at least 1500 years.

According to one tradition, the Callanish Stones were petrified giants who would not convert to Christianity, and another is that  early on midsummer morning an entity known as the "Shining One" walks the length of the avenue, his coming heralded by the call of the cuckoo.

  • Gloss - A stiff, middle-weight 270gsm paper with a highly reflective gloss finish and bright white base. Its wide colour gamut and high D-MAX ensure deep blacks and vibrant colours for stunning, high-impact results.
  • Fine Art Matt - A premium 308gsm Hahnemühle paper with a smooth, chalky texture and ultra-matte finish. This museum-grade paper enhances depth and richness, giving your image a three-dimensional look.

Each print is mounted onto black, 3mm Foamex - an ultra-durable, moisture-resistant PVC substrate that remains lightweight yet rigid. Perfect for displaying on an easel or mounting with the included Velcro strips, without the need for framing.

Supplied without a border unless otherwise specified.

Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.

Image ProtectionOptional: Satin Matt or High Gloss to match your chosen paper. This is a thin film which is laminated on top of your print to give protection from scratches, fingerprints and UV rays. Lamination is not recommended for Hahnemühle papers as it will mask the papers authentic texture.
Hanging SystemVelcro strips are included. This is a popular and simple solution for displaying light weight prints.
Care Instructions

Handle with Clean, Dry Hands - Oils and dirt from your fingers can damage the surface. 
Avoid Direct Sunlight - Even with high-quality archival paper, prolonged UV exposure can cause fading over time.
Avoid areas with high humidity, such as bathrooms or kitchens, to prevent warping or discolouration. 
Glossy prints are more prone to fingerprints and scratches, so avoid unnecessary contact.

Cleaning:

Lustre: Dust Gently with a Soft Cloth - A clean, dry microfibre cloth can remove dust without scratching the surface. 
Gloss: Use an Anti-Static Brush for Dusting - Gloss prints attract more dust, so a soft brush helps maintain a clean surface. If smudges appear, use a slightly damp microfibre cloth and blot (don't rub!) to avoid scratching. 
Hahnemühle Photo Rag: Avoid wiping or using moisture. Gently remove dust with an air blower or a soft, dry brush to preserve the delicate texture.
