Cairnholy I Chambered Cairn is one of two Neolithic burial monuments located near the coast of Dumfries and Galloway in south-west Scotland. Dating back more than 5,000 years, the cairn formed part of a wider prehistoric landscape used for ritual and burial during the Neolithic period. These chambered tombs were communal burial places, often used over long periods, and their standing stones and passage structures still offer a powerful connection to the earliest farming communities of Britain.
