Greek Fortifications aluminium dibond wall art - modern, frameless and available up to 30in x 20in.
As Rhodes coastal wall art, it brings structure and Mediterranean light into a space, well suited to modern interiors or travel-inspired settings.
The Saint Nicholas Fortress stands at the northern tip of Mandraki Harbour's pier in Rhodes. Built between 1464 and 1467 by Grand Master Piero Raimondo Zacosta on the site of an earlier Byzantine church dedicated to Saint Nicholas, it guarded the military port and symbolised the island's coastal defence. After the 1480 Ottoman siege and a damaging earthquake in 1481, Grand Master Pierre d'Aubusson added a bastion to strengthen the structure. A lighthouse was installed on the tower in the 17th century; the current version was built by the French Ottoman Lighthouse Society in 1863 and is still in operation. Although visitors can't enter the interior, they can enjoy views from the viewing deck and walk the former moat trail framed by the windmills and the harbour's ships.
My photograph takes a close look at St Nicholas Fortress, showing the strong lines of the tower and the old stone walls. The lighthouse is still visible, sitting like a crown above the battlements. I like how the tighter framing brings more focus to the architecture and texture of the stone, while the blue sky keeps it feeling open and uncluttered. A strong, simple print with a timeless feel.
Experience gallery-quality wall art with this premium Dibond-mounted print, designed for exceptional sharpness, durability, and a sleek modern finish. Choose from three high-quality paper options:
Each print is mounted onto a sturdy 3mm Dibond base, featuring a slim aluminium panel reinforced by a strong yet lightweight black acrylic backing. This rigid construction ensures long-lasting stability while maintaining a sleek, professional look.
The print comes complete with a hidden subframe which creates a modern floating effect when hung on the wall. Adjustable wall hangers are pre-attached, allowing for easy installation on any existing hook or screw. These hangers provide up to 10mm of adjustment both vertically and horizontally for effortless positioning.
Supplied without a border unless otherwise specified.
Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your chosen paper, offering additional protection. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
