Illustrated Birds greeting cards - beautifully printed and designed to make an impression.
The addition of the coastal landscape gives this illustration a strong sense of place, making it an excellent greeting card for a wide range of occasions. Perfect for bird enthusiasts, seaside lovers, and anyone who appreciates contemporary wildlife art, it celebrates the beauty of Britain's rugged coastline and its largest gull.
The great black-backed gull (Larus marinus) is the world's largest gull and a familiar sight along the coasts of Britain and northern Europe. Recognised by its powerful build, white head and underparts, dark slate-black wings, and heavy yellow bill with a distinctive red spot, it is a confident and adaptable seabird. Often seen patrolling beaches, rocky shores, harbours, and offshore islands, it is both a skilled scavenger and an accomplished predator.
This original digital illustration depicts a great black-backed gull standing on a rocky shoreline overlooking calm coastal waters and distant headlands. Created using clean, contemporary shapes, layered colour, and subtle feather detailing, the artwork combines the gull's bold black and white plumage with a tranquil seaside landscape, creating a balanced composition that reflects the rugged beauty of Britain's coastline.
