Illustrated Birds greeting cards - beautifully printed and designed to make an impression.
The addition of the peaceful coastal backdrop gives this illustration a greater sense of place, making it an ideal greeting card for many occasions. Perfect for bird enthusiasts, coastal lovers, and anyone who appreciates contemporary wildlife art, it captures the quiet elegance of one of Britain's most iconic waterside birds.
The grey heron (Ardea cinerea) is one of Britain's largest and most recognisable wading birds, commonly found beside rivers, lakes, wetlands, and estuaries. Instantly identified by its long neck, dagger-like yellow bill, and elegant grey plumage, it is a patient hunter, often standing motionless before striking at fish, amphibians, and other aquatic prey. Its graceful silhouette has made it an enduring symbol of Britain's waterways.
This original digital illustration depicts a grey heron standing along a rocky shoreline, overlooking calm coastal waters with distant headlands beyond. Created using clean, contemporary shapes, layered colour, and finely detailed feather work, the artwork combines the heron's elegant form with a simplified coastal landscape, producing a balanced composition that reflects the quiet beauty of Britain's shores.
