These small bivalves are uncovered as tides ebb and flow, often left scattered among seaweed and fine sediment. Seaweed, carried in by shifting currents, gathers in irregular lines and clusters, marking the movement of water across the shore. Together, shells and seaweed form a constantly changing pattern, shaped by the rhythm of the tide and the activity of coastal wildlife.
