The moon jellyfish (Aurelia aurita) is one of the most widely distributed jellyfish species, found throughout the world’s oceans and commonly present in UK coastal waters. Like all jellyfish, it is composed of around 95% water and lacks a brain, blood, and heart, drifting with ocean currents as it feeds on plankton and other small organisms.
