The Fairy Glen near Uig is a landscape of rounded grassy hills formed by ancient landslips along the Trotternish Peninsula. Among these formations stands Castle Ewen, a basalt-topped mound that resembles the remains of a ruined tower. Its distinctive shape and elevated position make it a focal point within this unusual and almost otherworldly terrain.
A narrow, worn path leads upward through the green slopes toward the rocky summit, drawing the eye directly to Castle Ewen.
