Selwicks Bay lies along the Yorkshire coast near Flamborough Head, an area known for its striking chalk cliffs and dramatic coastal scenery. The headland forms part of the Flamborough Headland Heritage Coast, where centuries of wind and sea have shaped the white cliffs into arches, stacks and steep cliff faces. This stretch of coastline has long been important for seabirds and coastal wildlife, as well as for walkers following the Yorkshire Coast Path along the cliff tops.
In this photograph, late afternoon light falls across the chalk cliffs as the sea moves steadily against the base of the headland. The white rock faces catch the warm sunlight while shadows deepen in the folds and curves of the cliffs. Waves roll toward the narrow beach below, and the coastline extends outward toward the sea, emphasising the rugged beauty of this part of the Yorkshire coast.
