Stanage Edge is one of the most recognisable gritstone escarpments in the Peak District, stretching for several miles across the moorland above Hathersage in Derbyshire. The dramatic ridge forms part of the Dark Peak landscape and has long attracted walkers, climbers and photographers drawn to its sweeping views across the Hope Valley. The edge is also known for its links to local history and literature, with the surrounding moorland often associated with the wild landscapes that inspired writers such as Charlotte Brontë.
