Brilliant customer service from the start with an easy website to navigate. Unfortunately when my order arrived the print was damaged, contacted Carol who sent another out for me straight away and kept me updated along the way. Absolutely fantastic service. Thank you. - Kim S, Pontefract
Gothic mounted foamex print - lightweight, contemporary and available up to 30in x 20in.
Historic ecclesiastical carving brings a distinctive and thought-provoking presence to interiors, particularly in studies, libraries, or spaces with a darker, heritage-inspired style. The detailed textures and muted tones suit traditional or gothic-inspired décor, offering a conversation piece for those drawn to history and symbolism.
Within St Martin’s Church in Burton Agnes, the table tomb of Sir Walter Griffith, who died in 1487, features a striking and unusual arrangement of carved skulls and bones. These macabre details reflect late medieval attitudes toward mortality, serving as a visual reminder of the inevitability of death. Such imagery was not uncommon in church monuments of the period, where the concept of memento mori encouraged reflection on life, faith, and the passage of time. The craftsmanship and symbolism offer a tangible link to the beliefs and artistic traditions of the late 15th century.
In this image, the carved skulls are shown in close detail, their worn surfaces and layered forms creating a dense, textured composition. Subtle variations in tone highlight the age and weathering of the stone, while the tight framing removes surrounding context to focus entirely on the intricate carving. The natural light enhances the depth and shadow between each element, reflecting the character of the original artwork.
Enjoy a premium photographic print with three paper options, each designed to suit different lighting conditions and artistic preferences:
Each print is mounted onto black, 3mm Foamex - an ultra-durable, moisture-resistant PVC substrate that remains lightweight yet rigid. Perfect for displaying on an easel or mounting with the included Velcro strips, without the need for framing.
Supplied without a border unless otherwise specified.
Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.

I'm absolutely made up with the print I received from Real World Art. I went for the Koi Carp image - It's very evocative and they've totally captured the serenity you feel watching Koi. You can almost hear the babbling water! What's more, it's a top quality print, pin-sharp and looks great framed up. Couldn't recommend them any higher.. lovely to deal with.. thank you.
Brilliant experience and service, we have the Highland Cow framed print, my other half being a lover of cattle and cows and it looks incredible on our picture wall! Thanks Again!!
