Abercastle is a small, naturally sheltered harbour along the Pembrokeshire coast, long valued for its protection from the open Atlantic. It gained wider recognition in 1876 as the landing point of Alfred “Centennial” Johnson, who completed the first recorded solo transatlantic voyage from Gloucester, Massachusetts. The harbour also holds quieter reminders of maritime history, including the wreck of the SS Leysian, lying just offshore on the western side beneath the surface.
In this image, the view focuses on the curve of the harbour, with small boats resting on calm water beneath rising headlands. A single house sits on the hillside, catching the light and adding a sense of scale and human presence. Optional lamination is available in satin or gloss to match your selected paper, providing extra protection against moisture and handling. However, lamination is not recommended for Fine Art Matt paper, as it will obscure its authentic texture.
