The Peel Monument, also known as Holcombe Tower, stands on Harcles Hill above Ramsbottom. Built in 1852, it was erected as a memorial to Sir Robert Peel, who was born nearby in Bury and served twice as Prime Minister. The tower overlooks a wide stretch of countryside, reflecting both its commemorative purpose and its commanding position within the landscape.
In this image, the monument rises from the hillside, set against a backdrop of open sky and distant views. A worn path leads through the grass toward the tower, guiding the eye into the scene. Absolutely wonderful photo! I bought it for my grandson but my daughter loved it so much that we decided it would be a waste to put it on his bedroom wall. I'm absolutely made up with the print I received from Real World Art. I went for the Koi Carp image - It's very evocative and they've totally captured the serenity you feel watching Koi.
